Balancing Act

I just realized how difficult it is to balance part time entrepreneur, full time work, family and social commitments. Add another piece to that, say church leadership and everything becomes chaotic. Nevertheless, the ‘presence’ of this weblog reminded me where I have left off.

So whats new, well, I have had major purchases to my apartment lately. Plus maintenance costs on my car. Add all and so bulk of my savings had been stashed to go to a new bed, a new airconditioning unit and new pair of mag wheels.

Picture this:

Bed (king koil sis company) – $ 1600                                                                                                     Airconditioning (3 split)       – $ 2000                                                                                                            Car Maintenance                   – $ 1400

That’s easily SGD$5000 over a period of 2 months! (April/May). Hopefully this will be the last major cost spend.

Keep you posted!

Of Opinions and Minions

On marketing, Seth Godin said:

People seldom believe what others tell them; People often believe what their friends tell them;    People always believe that they tell themselves.!

Agree? Now you know why the advent of online social networking has grown very rapidly over the years.  But remember, fads such as facebooks, the myspaces and other networking stuff on line is still penetrating just the second level of marketing.  What about the last step?

End of the day, tbe bigger the effort we exert our influence to our friends, the more we can influence their buying and purchasing decision making.

Stary making friends, and being true one. It pays off in the long run!!

Second Top Real Estate Investors in Australia

According to an article I read a few years ago, next to the Japanese, Singaporeans are the second largest real estate investors in Australia. For a compelling reason I believe. As I analyze, a predictable pattern is emanating.

Typical trend goes. First, the young couple gets settled (married). Second, with the aid of govt grant, they then purchase their own flat. Third, once established, these new couple will normally shop globally for their next investment. With children looming in the backdrop, the next best prudent investment is their childrens education and potential housing expense 16 years down the road.

With the popularity of Australia as an ‘eduhub’ for weathy south asians, the market is almost always ripe for these shoppers to buy. Come to think of it, the idea is as easy as A-B-C. But the secret lies in two very important govt policies. One the readily available housing grants for young couples, then the sound bilateral relations between the two countries.

If only we have the same solid business ties between all SouthEastAsia neighbors…

3 P’s of Learning in this Business

These are the 3P’s I learned about this business as I read the works of a best-selling author.

1. Pattern seeing

2. Pormula and system developing.

3. People networking.

I will now start applying the 3P’s and hope this will yield results soon!

ViewDeck

The template I chose is not coincidental.

The photo reminded me of my childhood desires. That of owning a piece of ‘retirement land’ overlooking a breathtaking view at this! Fast forward 20 years. And this dream seems to slowly take shape. But there is no shortcuts! With sheer hard work and a little stroke of luck, my chances of making it is very good.  Someone once said, “All of us dream. Now put foundations on it and one can turn his dreams to reality.”

Time to put words to actions!

Rex Regis!

Pardon the lenghty blog  name.

But mine is an attempt to put into writing  my thoughts on the real estate business. Im a novice in this business. But everyone started as an apprentice. Skills were then developed along the bumps and curves of life.

A cliche I once read paved the way for this. It said ‘ BUY LAND, IT IS NOT BEING MADE ANYMORE’. How true! Add a little dose of Robert Kiyosaki’s “Rich Dad Poor Dad Book” and you have a winning combination!

Welcome and hope you like my postings!
