Second Top Real Estate Investors in Australia

According to an article I read a few years ago, next to the Japanese, Singaporeans are the second largest real estate investors in Australia. For a compelling reason I believe. As I analyze, a predictable pattern is emanating.

Typical trend goes. First, the young couple gets settled (married). Second, with the aid of govt grant, they then purchase their own flat. Third, once established, these new couple will normally shop globally for their next investment. With children looming in the backdrop, the next best prudent investment is their childrens education and potential housing expense 16 years down the road.

With the popularity of Australia as an ‘eduhub’ for weathy south asians, the market is almost always ripe for these shoppers to buy. Come to think of it, the idea is as easy as A-B-C. But the secret lies in two very important govt policies. One the readily available housing grants for young couples, then the sound bilateral relations between the two countries.

If only we have the same solid business ties between all SouthEastAsia neighbors…
